2021 Music Tectonics Conference Preview: Online, in the Metaverse, and by the Sea

Get ready for this year’s 2021 Music Tectonics Conference with Eleanor Rust and Dmitri Vietze on this week’s conference preview episode. Music Tectonics unites music tech innovators across industry boundaries to share ideas and get business done. In 2021, our hybrid event invites a global audience to participate in parallel universes: in the metaverse, across the planet, and on a carousel by the sea.

The annual Music Tectonics Conference kicks off with The Shock Before the Quake, an online preconference featuring the semi-final of “Swimming with Narwhals” — the music tech startup competition presented by BandLab.

Following the semi-final pitch competition, The Shock Before The Quake preconference will feature a keynote by MIDiA Research’s Mark Mulligan, titled “Tipping Points: Trends That Will Shape the Next Music Business,” an exclusive presentation that has only been made behind closed doors before now.The preconference will also feature a fireside chat between Music Ally editor Stuart Dredge and Tristra Newyear Yeager, strategist at Rock Paper Scissors, the music tech PR firm behind Music Tectonics.

The Music Tectonics Conference continues October 25-27 online and in the metaverse. In the morning, tune in to keynotes, interactive panels, and speed networking on Hopin's video conference-but-better platform. Meet global attendees at our world-famous speed-networking throughout the day and invite your connections to one-on-one video calls! In the afternoon, check out more keynotes, concerts, exhibitor booths and chance meetings in Degy World, an avatar-based 3D conference campus (no VR headset required).

On November 2, join the Music Tectonics Conference for networking events by the beach in Santa Monica, CA. Return to in-person mingling in real world spaces way beyond the typical conference hotel.
